Baby Angel Free Pattern


 

Materials

  • Abuelita Yarn in the following colors:
    • Chedron: for the hair
    • Skin tone: for the body
    • White: for the diaper
    • Mustard: for the bag
    • Fuchsia: for the heart
  • Furry Yarn (Bombón brand) for the wings, with a 5 mm hook
  • Felt: pink and white, 5 cm x 5 cm
  • Skewer or toothpick
  • Pipe cleaners (1 pair)
  • Paint: gold and pink
  • Safety eyes: 6 mm
  • Embroidery thread: white and brown
  • Hot glue
  • Stuffing
  • Head support: plastic, silicone stick, or wooden stick
  • Yarn needle
  • Scissors

Pattern Instructions

Legs (Make 2 pieces in skin color with a 2 mm hook)

  1. R1: MR 6 = 6 SC
  2. R2: 6 INC = 12 SC
  3. R3: (SC, INC) * 6 times = 18 SC
  4. R4-R5: 18 SC (2 rounds)
  5. R6: 6 DEC, 6 SC = 12 SC
  6. R7: SC, 2 DEC, 6 SC = 10 SC
  7. R8-R12: 10 SC (5 rounds), stuff lightly.

Body (in white, 2 mm hook)

  1. R1: MR 6 SC = 6 SC
  2. R2: 6 INC = 12 SC
  3. R3: (SC, INC) * 6 times = 18 SC
  4. R4: (2 SC, INC) * 6 times = 24 SC
  5. R5: (3 SC, INC) * 6 times = 30 SC
  6. R6-R8: 30 SC (3 rounds)
  7. R9: 15 SC, (SC, DEC) * 5 = 25 SC
  8. R10: 25 SC
  9. R11: 25 SC, change to skin color in the last stitch
  10. R12: Move marker 3 SC forward, 5 SC, DEC, 18 SC = 24 SC
  11. R13: (2 SC, DEC) * 6 times = 18 SC, start stuffing.
  12. R14: (SC, DEC) * 6 times = 12 SC

Insert head support. Crochet 5 rounds of 12 SC for the neck, continue stuffing as needed. Make a border with single crochet at the waist. Attach the legs with the decreases at the back.

Arms (Make 2 pieces in skin color with a 2 mm hook)

  1. R1: MR 7 SC = 7 SC
  2. R2-R8: 7 SC (7 rounds), insert pipe cleaners and close with a needle.
  3. Sew arms to the body after the two neck rows.

Hair / Head

Hair: Use Chedron color, in back loop only (BLO):

  1. R1: MR 6
  2. R2: 6 INC = 12 SC
  3. R3: (SC, INC) x 6 = 18 SC
  4. R4: (2 SC, INC) * 6 = 24 SC
  5. R5: (3 SC, INC) * 6 = 30 SC
  6. R6: (4 SC, INC) * 6 = 36 SC
  7. R7: (5 SC, INC) * 6 = 42 SC
  8. R8-R9: 42 SC
  9. At the end of R9, make 3 chains, then SL ST in the next stitch. Continue this sequence around. Attach the hair to the head and use the same yarn to embroider eyebrows.

Head: (skin color, 2 mm hook)

  1. R1: MR 6
  2. R2: 6 INC = 12 SC
  3. R3: (SC, INC) * 6 = 18 SC
  4. R4: (2 SC, INC) * 6 = 24 SC
  5. R5: (3 SC, INC) * 6 = 30 SC
  6. R6: (4 SC, INC) * 6 = 36 SC
  7. R7: (5 SC, INC) * 6 = 42 SC
  8. Place eyes between R11 and R12, 4-5 SC apart.
  9. R8-R14: 42 SC (7 rounds)
  10. R15-R19: Continue decreasing until closed.
  11. Details: With brown thread, embroider the upper part of the eye. With white thread, mark the lower curve of the eye. Add pink paint to the cheeks and embroider the nose one row below the eyes.

Bag

  1. With mustard color, 2 mm hook:
  2. R1: 7 chains
  3. R2: 5 SC, 3 SC in the next stitch, 4 SC, INC = 13 SC
  4. R3-R7: 13 SC
  5. Make 25 chains for straps and attach them to the bag.

Wings

  1. Furry yarn, 5 mm hook:
  2. R1: 8 chains, crochet single crochets, decreasing in each row until wing shape is formed.

Heart

  1. Fuchsia color, 2 mm hook:
  2. R1: MR 6 SC
  3. R2: 6 INC = 12 SC
  4. Attach two pieces to form the heart, stuff lightly.
  5. Attach the heart to the bag using a painted skewer.

Bow

  1. Blue yarn, 2 mm hook:
  2. In a magic ring, chain 3, make three double treble crochets, chain 3, and SL ST to close the bow. Fasten off, leaving a long tail to sew it onto the neck.

Envelope

  1. Use white felt to create a small envelope by cutting a rectangle for the body and a triangle for the flap.
  2. Use pink felt to cut a small heart shape and attach it to the envelope with hot glue.

Assembly and Final Details

  1. Sew the legs to the body, making sure the decreases face the back.
  2. Attach the arms to the sides of the body, right below the neck.
  3. Sew the head onto the neck, leaving two rows visible to create a neck outline.
  4. Attach the hair securely to the head and use brown thread to embroider eyebrows above the eyes.
  5. Attach the wings to the back of the body.
  6. Attach the bag to the back, with straps going over the shoulders.
  7. Insert the heart (on the painted skewer) into the bag so it peeks out.
  8. Finishing Touches:
    • Use white thread to embroider a lower curve on the eyes.
    • Add pink paint to the cheeks for a blush effect.
    • Use brown thread to stitch a small nose just below the eyes.
    • Secure the bow around the neck.
