Bear's Brother Free Pattern


 

Abbreviations

  • MR - Magic Ring
  • SC - Single Crochet
  • INC - Increase
  • DEC - Decrease
  • FLO - Front Loop Only

Qurachetayharie

I used Parfait Chunky with a 4mm crochet hook and 18mm safety eyes.

Materials

  • Yarn
  • Crochet Hook
  • Safety Eyes/Felt Eyes/Felt Nose
  • Polyfil
  • Scissors
  • Darning Needle

Arms (x2)

  1. R1: 6 SC in MR (6)
  2. R2: INC x6 (12)
  3. R3-9: SC around - 7 rounds (12)

Lightly stuff the bottom of the arms.

  1. R10: (SC, DEC) ×4 (8)
  2. Fold in half and SC 4 to close.
  3. FO. Cut a short tail, we will crochet into the body later.

Legs (x2)

  1. R1: 6 SC in MR (6)
  2. R2: INC x6 (12)
  3. R3: (SC 3, INC) ×3 (15)
  4. R4-6: SC around - 3 rounds (15)

FO the first leg only! Do not finish off the second leg.

Head Body

Continuing with the second leg, CH 2 and place a SC into the first leg to connect. This will count as the first ST in R7.

  1. R7: SC 15 into the first leg, SC 2 into the first side of the CH, SC 15 into the second leg, SC 2 into the other side of the CH. (34)
  2. R8: SC 14, INC x4, 16 SC (38)
  3. Take a piece of yarn and tie a knot into any gaps you may have between the legs.
  4. R9-14: SC around - 6 rounds (38)
  5. R15: SC 14, DEC x6, SC 12 (32)
  6. R16: (SC 14, DEC) x2 (30)
  7. R17: SC around (30)
  8. R18: (SC 3, DEC) x6 (24)
  9. Start stuffing the body and continue as you go.

In the next row you will be attaching the arms to the body.

  4. Stuff the neck firmly.

  9. If you are using safety eyes, insert between rows 29-30 about 6-7 stitches between the eyes.

  5. Attach nose starting at rows 23-24 and ending at 28-29.

Ears (x2)

Only make ears if you are making the bee hat or regular bear.

  1. R1: 5 SC in MR (5)
  2. R2: INC x5 (10)
  3. R3: (SC 1, INC) ×5 (15)
  4. R4: SC around (15)
  5. FO and leave a long tail for sewing.
  6. Attach ears between rows 3-8. If you are making the bee hat, the ears are sewed onto the hat.

Tail

  1. R1: 8 SC in MR (8)
  2. R2: SC around (8)
  3. FO and leave a long tail for sewing.
  4. Attach to the back of the bear.
