Required Materials and Abbreviations
For making the lily, I used Yarnart Jeans white yarn, hook No. 2, thicker floral tape wire for the stem, and thinner wire for the stamens. From the second row, you can crochet the wire into the petal itself to help it hold its shape. The petal length is about 7 cm, depending on your crochet tension.
- ch - chain stitch
- sl st - slip stitch
- sc - single crochet
- hdc - half double crochet
- dc - double crochet
- tr - treble crochet
Petal
- Chain 20
- In the second chain from the hook, make 19 sc, 1 ch
- Continue on the other side:
- 2 sc, 2 hdc, 3 dc, 5 tr, 3 dc, 2 hdc, 2 sc, 2 ch
- Work along the first side:
- 2 sc, 2 hdc, 3 dc, 5 tr, 3 dc, 2 hdc, 2 sc, sl st
Fasten off the yarn, and the petal is ready.
Assembly and Finishing
I made 6 petals for my flower, but you can make 7 for a fuller flower. However, I don’t recommend making less than 6 petals as there will be large gaps between them.
Gather the stamens, petals, and stem together, and wrap the entire structure with yarn matching the stem. If necessary, secure it with glue.
Congratulations!!!
Your lily is ready! I’m sure it’s beautiful!
