Ingredients:

  • 1 bag (9.25 oz) Fritos corn chips
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 can (15 oz) chili beans
  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 packet (1.25 oz) chili seasoning
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • Jalapeños, sliced (optional)
  • Sour cream, for serving (optional)

Directions:

  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and chopped onion over medium heat until the beef is browned and the onion is tender.
  2. Drain any excess grease from the skillet, then stir in the chili beans, tomato sauce, and chili seasoning. Cook for an additional 5-10 minutes, until heated through.
  3. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Spread half of the Fritos corn chips in the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  5. Spoon the beef chili mixture evenly over the Fritos layer.
  6. Sprinkle half of the shredded cheddar cheese on top of the beef chili.
  7. Repeat the layers with the remaining Fritos and shredded cheese.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
  10. Garnish with sliced jalapeños and serve with sour cream on the side, if desired.
