Soft Batch Chocolate M&M Cookies: A Delicious Treat

  • 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons (140g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup (21g) unsweetened natural cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (170g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons (28g) unsalted butter, chopped into tiny pieces
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup (99g) granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup (71g) light brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 2 tablespoons (28ml) whole milk
  • 1 and 1/2 cups milk chocolate M&Ms
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • Garnish:
    • 1/4 cup M&Ms
    • 1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips


  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate microwave-safe bowl, melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips and butter together in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Let cool slightly.
  4. In a large bowl, beat together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and milk until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the melted chocolate mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until smooth.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  7. Fold in the milk chocolate chips and M&Ms until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  8. Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie.
  9. Garnish each cookie with a few additional M&Ms and chocolate chips, pressing them lightly into the dough.
  10. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
  11. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
