AMISH CINNAMON BREAD





Prepare Time

– **Cooking Time:** 10-12 minutes per batch

– **Total Time:** Approximately 30 minutes

Ingredients:

– 1 cup butter, softened

– 2 cups sugar

– 2 eggs

– 2 cups buttermilk (or homemade buttermilk: 2 cups milk plus 2 tablespoons vinegar or lemon juice)

– 4 cups flour

– 2 teaspoons baking soda

– Cinnamon/sugar mixture: 2/3 cups sugar, 2 teaspoons cinnamon

Directions:

1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.

2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, flour, and baking soda.

5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, stirring until just combined.

6. Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets.

7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.

8. While still warm, roll the tacos in the cinnamon/sugar mixture to coat.

9. Allow to cool on wire racks before serving.
